Tip of the week: Resellers vs. Laboratories. Why do DNA tests range from $140 to $800? The difference is this: Many online companies are resellers that act as middle-men. They purchase test kits from larger laboratories, and resell them at a higher price to gain a profit. Always ensure that your laboratory is AABB and ISO accredited and has a physical address

Every Securigene test report is fully comprehensive and easy to understand. A summary of the conclusions of the test are provided along with the full DNA profile for each individual tested.
Paternity test report Your paternity testing result report will tell you conclusively whether the alleged father is the true biological father of the child. Paternity Inclusion. If the tested man is the true biological father of the child, the paternity inclusion report will indicate that the tested man is not excluded as the father and that the probability of paternity is greater than 99.9%. The DNA report will clearly show that all of the child's paternal genes match those of the alleged father perfectly. The CPI (combined paternity index) value will be over 1000. Paternity Exclusion. If the tested man is not the true biological father of the child, the paternity exclusion report will indicate that the tested man has been excluded as the biological father of the child and the probability of paternity is 0%. The DNA report will clearly indicate the child's paternal genes do not match those of the alleged father and have come from a different man. The CPI value will be 0. Maternity test report Your maternity testing result report will tell you conclusively whether the alleged mother is the true biological mother of the child. Maternity Inclusion. If the tested woman is the true biological mother of the child, the maternity inclusion report will indicate that the tested woman is not excluded as the mother and that the probability of maternity is greater than 99.9%. The DNA report will clearly show that all of the child's maternal genes match those of the alleged mother perfectly. The CPI (combined maternity index) value will be over 1000. Maternity Exclusion. If the tested woman is not the true biological mother of the child, the maternity exclusion report will indicate that the tested woman has been excluded as the mother of the child and the probability of maternity is 0%. The DNA report will clearly indicate the child's maternal genes do not match those of the alleged mother and have come from a different woman. The CPI value will be 0. Sibling test report Your sibling test report will provide you with an indication of whether two individuals are biological siblings. Your sibling test report will provide values which indicate whether two individuals are siblings or unrelated, and will also provides values which indicate whether two individuals are full or half siblings. Determination of whether two individuals are related. Your sibling test report will provide you with a " ±sibling index". A sibling index value over "±1" is consistent with the two individuals being biologically related. A sibling index value under " ±1" is consistent with the two individuals being unrelated. Determination of whether two individuals are full siblings or half siblings. Your sibling report will also provide you with a " ±full sibling" index value and a " ±half sibling" index value. A full sibling index value which is greater than the half sibling index value is consistent with the individuals being related as full siblings. If the half sibling index value is greater than the full sibling index value, then the results are consistent with the sibling being half sibling (sharing only one parent in common). Your sibling test report will provide all results and index values along with the full genetic profile of each individual tested. Twin test report Your twin test report will tell you whether a set of twins are identical twins or fraternal twins. Identical twins: If a set of twins are identical twins, their DNA profile will be a perfect match. The DNA test report will clearly state that the twins are identical twins. Fraternal twins: If a set of twins are fraternal twins, they came from separate fertilized eggs and are the same as children which are born years apart. Fraternal twins do not have the same DNA profile. If the twins' DNA profiles do not match, then they are fraternal twins, and the report will clearly state that the twins are fraternal twins. Grandparentage test report Your grandparentage test report will provide you with an indication of whether a tested grandparent is the biological grandparent of a grandchild. If only one grandparent is tested, the report will provide a !ˇ±kinship"index. A kinship index above "±1" is consistent with the tested grandparent being the true biological grandparent of a grandchild. A kinship index below "±1" is consistent with non-relatedness. If both grandparents were tested, the kinship index will be provided for each grandparent. Additionally, a reconstruction test is performed to reconstruct the genetic pool of the alleged father. If the child's DNA does not match the DNA in the reconstructed genetic pool, then the test will conclusively demonstrate that the tested child is not the true biological grandchild of the grandparents tested. |
