Experience with Reconfirmation Screens
Because of our advanced technology, Securigene is often asked to reconfirm cases which were previously conducted by other smaller laboratories which use older and less sensitive techniques. One major drawback of older technologies used by smaller labs is that it is often not powerful enough to exclude an alleged father who is not the true biological father of a child. The older technologies often provided CPI's under 50. The technology offered by Securigene guarantees a CPI (combined Paternity Index) greater than 10,000. All paternity inclusions are reported as greater than 99.99% and all paternity exclusions are reported 0% probability of paternity. Using the latest technology, Securigene has on a number of occasions excluded alleged father that previously were not excluded by smaller laboratories who had conducted the test using older technology.
